Crossing The Atlantic - Promotional Luncheon in D.C.

On Friday the 7th of April from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm under the patronage of the Embassy of Lebanon in Washington DC, the American Committee for Tyre organized a luncheon at UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador, the Honorable Esther Coopersmith’s home in support of the "Phoenicians before Columbus" expedition. A presentation of the expedition was given by Captain Philip Beale of the Royal British Navy who built a fully-functioning life size replica of a Phoenician ship with which he will undertake an Atlantic crossing in September 2017. This event took place with the presence of eminent personalities such as Her Excellency Carla Jazzar, Chargée d'Affaires of the Embassy of Lebanon; Ambassador Clive Aguis, embassy of Malta; Ambassador Wendy Chamberlain, MEI; and Juma Raschid, Counselor of the Embassy of Oman.
